Fiorita
Every summer a magical blossoming happens, thanks to the environmental characteristics of the Castelluccio Plateau and organic agriculture.

Castelluccio di Norcia's Plateau - Natura 2000 area in the Monti Sibillini National Park - hosts every summer a spontaneous flowering of annual and perennial herbaceous species, within the fields, mainly cultivated at lentil.
A unique environmental spectacle, to be protected and enhanced!

Poppy, cornflower, sage, tagete, daisy, hemlock and vetch: these are just a few of the species that make up the Fiorita. The flowering period varies from year to year, depending on the environmental conditions and the season: in any case, every year the magic happens, attracting over 250,000 visitors, subjecting the area to a very strong pressure, to be managed.

Fiorita is guaranteed by the constant work of the local farming community, which cultivates organically - without pesticides and in an environmentally friendly manner. The annual tillage of the land is essential to ensure Fiorita, as is the lack of use of chemical herbicides. A natural cycle that repeats itself year after year in full harmony!

When lentils are harvested, the Fiorita wild seeds are collected and separated. Historically, they were not exploited, but thrown away and treated as weed.
Floreat saves these wild seeds, preserving them to recreate Fiorita magic even beyond Castelluccio.
With local farmers, we give new life to the Fiorita and protect the local agriculture!
